      Stubaital is a valley in the Austrian Alps, about 20 miles southwest of Innsbruck, famous for the Stubai Glacier-one of Austria's largest year-round ski areas. Summers bring hiking past alpine lakes like the Schlicker See, with temperatures averaging 70°F (21°C), while winters average 28°F (-2°C) and offer glacier skiing from October to May. You can ride the Stubai Glacier cable car up to 10,650 feet (3,250 meters) for snow sports even in July, then cool off in the natural swimming lakes in the valley below.
