Hotels in Rhone-Alpes, France

Rhône-Alpes stretches from the sunny shores of Lake Geneva in the north to the towering peaks of the French Alps in the east, with a climate that swings from mild Mediterranean summers to snowy Alpine winters. You can ski down Mont Blanc's icy slopes from December to April, then hike through lavender fields around the Ardèche Gorges in July when temperatures reach 80°F (27°C). In Lyon, the region's food capital, you'll taste classic Lyonnaise bouchon dishes, while Annecy's clear lake and medieval canals offer paddleboarding in summer and ice skating on frozen canals in winter.
